Information About Microdermabrasion On TV
It never ceases to amaze me that information on microdermabrasion can be so difficult to access. This is most clearly seen when we take a look at the number of times microdermabrasion information has appeared on television. I only know of a couple of mentions on TV stations across the globe.
In the United Kingdom this is especially more surprising as the procedure is well established and widely used. For those wishing to find unbiased microdermabrasion information they have to look hard. However publicity of microdermabrasion has made a breakthrough with a prime time mention on the popular show "How To Look Good Naked".
How To Look Good Naked is hosted by Gok Wan who examines our attitudes to our bodies. In an episode shown in early June 2007 there is a look at microdermabrasion. The prog also looked at microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is a fashionable cosmetic treatment which has been described as a method of sandpapering the outermost (dead) surface of the skin but in such a way as to not cause any discomfort.

This short mention on TV lead to a slight increase in the amount of information about microdermabrasion in the British press. I found a most amusing article in the Scottish newspaper "The Herald" (which you can read online here). The article, by David Belcher, was titled "Just snog a bearded Highlander" and included a simple method of getting home microdermabrasion at a fraction of the cost of a salon treatment. Belcher advises the reader to " simply snog a bearded Highlander! Removes surface skin-layers at a stroke - and it's free".
Finding other mentions is very difficult so, if you are aware of an up-coming television show that will include a mention of microdermabrasion or other non-surgical skin care procedures, please let us know by contacting us (click the link at the bottom of the page).
I am sure that, as it's popularity continues to explode, we shall be seeing more of this and similar treatments on our televisions very soon. In only a few years nearly every salon & medical aesthetics clinic worth it's salt now offers the treatment to it's clients.
