Beach Hotties Use Microdermabrasion

This summer could be the hottest on record and I am not referring to the weather! Many men are now using microdermabrasion and other popular skin care and cosmetic surgery techniques to enhance the appearance of their skin in preparation for display on the beaches this summer.

Microdermabrasion is now the second most popular skin care treatment available and, with the increased uptake amongst men, it will, possibly, soon be the most popular. However guys are also using botox and liposuction to create the beach butt and perfect body.

Browsing the Internet I stumbled upon a report on this phenomenon which reported that a Dr .Carolyn Jacob, who is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, had said that "Women are not the only ones having cosmetic procedures done as men are now feeling the pressure to have the 'perfect' look," What a load of rubbish! Most people want to look good and nearly all want healthy and youthful looking skin, even those that have near perfect skin find faults and, even if they don't, there is a need to make an effort to maintain the skin's appearance for as long as possible.

Yes, I suppose there is some pressure to look great but it is much easier than it has ever been. Salon/clinic treatments like microdermabrasion and botox have revolutionized the skin care industry and the "lunchtime facial" is a reality and at reasonable cost. There will always be those who take the more extreme measures of a full facelift and other invasive procedures but the non-invasive techniques are now the more common and the results speak for themselves.

For those with a tight budget there are the, now common, microdermabrasion products and even home microdermabrasion machines which have reduced the overall cost considerably. Even those who have regular appointments for professional microdermabrasion treatments have found that these products can effectively aid the process and even making the need for monthly treatments redundant.

home microdermabrasion products.

The article mentioned above went on to say that cost is a point well worth consideration when choosing where you have your treatment. I have to agree with this but with limits. At the moment there are a small number of clinics and aesthetic technicians that charge well above that which could be considered fair and reasonable. They appear to rely upon our nature to believe that a treatment carried out in clinical surroundings is bound to be more effective than one carried out in a beauty salon. However they use the same machines, the same crystals and even the same aftercare skin creams and lotions - so why the extra expense?

Dr .Carolyn Jacob warns that you should always investigate the training and qualifications of the person doing the treatment. Yes, true, there are a few charlatans but the companies that make the machines go to some rather extreme lengths to ensure that the person using their products know exactly how to use them to their best. It would be disastrous for their product line if their machines failed to produce the desired results!

However, it is my opinion that the true strength of a treatment's success lies in the after care and even the preparation. This is where education and training become important. Most professional treatments start with a consultancy where the technician examines the skin and does some background checks to ensure a person's suitability for the treatment and how it should be carried out. An error made at this stage would create untold problems. Aftercare involves the use of skin care lotions but the true professional will advise a number of measure that you can take to ensure that the effectiveness and results of microdermabrasion are sustained for much longer than would occur otherwise. Some salons even have their own preparatory creams and lotions with their "secret" ingredients and, from my own experience, I can say that some are clearly more effective than others. The UK company Crystal Clear produce a range of skin care products that are truly wonderful for sensitive skin but, unfortunately, they are very expensive for what they are!

Even back in the 1980's I was seeing guys using skin care creams such as nivea to maintain supple skin so it comes as no great surprise that more and more men are now using microdermabrasion. Many male hollywood stars, such as Jude Law, have used the treatment to help fight acne and other complaints and I suspect a whole lot more use it in secret.

What I do find surprising is the use of the treatment on the butt and other areas of the body not previously considered necessary. Man (and woman) has always sought to maintain youthfulness and beauty, even the Ancient Egyptians went to rather extreme lengths and used a technique rather similar to microdermabrasion (they used sandpaper on their faces!!!!). So when you read about these doctors complaining of the increased pressures on us to look great take it with a bucket of salt. Sadly there will always be those individuals who a easily led and find themselves greatly influenced by the media but for most of us it is harmless.

The best advice anybody can give a person considering a salon or clinic treatment is a recommendation. If you have a friend, colleague or family member who has had the procedure you are interested in - have a chat with them and look at the results. Results can not lie and it is the, sometimes, spectacular results of microdermabrasion which have driven the procedure to the fore. It is no wonder guys are flocking to use it, it works where other treatments and procedures fail.
