Microdermabrasion Before And After

Microdermabrasion Before And After

Over the next few pages we will be taking a close look at microdermabrasion before and after the treatment. Managing to get hold of decent photographs was a very great problem for us as nearly all other microdermabrasion sites, salons and clinics use photos that have used a selection of tricks to enhance the differences. We wanted to present, clearly and objectively, the differences in the skin before and after the procedure.

Another problem we faced was that there was great difficulty in creating the exact same environment as was used in the first photo for the second. Wherever possible we used the same lighting and facial expressions so that the comparison between before and after could be accurately assessed by all who viewed them. The only way in which we could display the images on the Internet so that the differences could be seen easily was to take close-up shots of the same area of skin for both before and after shots. However the medium of the Internet is not really perfect for the presentation so each thumbnail can be clicked to view an enlargement.

We would suggest that you save both the before and after photographs to your computer. Make sure they are in their own folder and then you will be able to view them in an image viewer. We have created the enlargements so that you can download them to zoom in on them. You will be able to see that both photos are of the same person and the exact same area of skin.

We will first take a closer look at the images which we have displayed on our home page. In this first image (show left) we can clearly see the deep wrinkles on the bottom eyelid and into the socket area. You can also see that the pores are, to a degree, open and maybe even a little congested. The patient was given a facial treatment prior to microdermabrasion and then a soothing massage and soothing lotion post treatment.

Following the treatment we can clearly see the vast improvements in the skin. The skin is puffed up a little but the depth of the wrinkles is far, far less than before the treatment. If you look very closely you can see that all wrinkles are still there but the fine wrinkles are almost invisible. This is more clearly seen on the enlargements. To view and enlargement just click on the image to the left and you will be redirected to a page showing the same photo in far more detail, save them and compare. Please note that we have not used any photo trickery here!

I will be adding more before rand after photographs shortly so please visit again soon.

Please Note: We do NOT use photographic trickery on this site as we are sick and tired of the proliferation of fake photo's which are showing the improvements a particular cosmetic procedure can make on the skin appearance.

Even the highest authorities in the skin care industry use tricks to fool people into false expectations of microdermabrasion. Often the photographs could have shown a difference but instead they ask the model to screw up their face for the before shots to show more wrinkles. This is then disguised by manipulating or cropping the photo.

Another popular trick which can show great improvements that don't really exist is to use different lighting therefore creating different skin tones. Sometimes this has been done in error or can be due to the incompetence of the photographer or webmaster. Even on Board Certified sites the before and after shots show manipulation such as these two below:

Before After

If you study the before and after photographs above you can clearly see the difference. The after shot looks great but how much of this is due to the skill of the cosmetic surgeon? The mouth is clearly pursed to exaggerate the wrinkles in the before but in the after the face is clearly relaxed! Furthermore the before shot has been treated with a red filter whereas the after shot has had a green filter applied. This causes the viewer to assume that the cosmetic treatment has caused this vast improvement.

It is extremely important that you learn to spot these tricks as microdermabrasion can produce the most excellent results if carried out professionally by somebody who has been thoroughly trained in using the microdermabrasion machine. The operator must also know and fully understand the skin and skin types as this understanding helps greatly in deciding the depth and frequency of treatments.

Please call back soon as we will be adding more photographs that accurately show the benefits & effects of microdermabrasion upon the skin.

Below is an interesting close-up photograph (sorry no enlargement) which clearly shows the difference between the pore of the skin before and after the microdermabrasion treatment.

This photo was rather difficult as it is an extreme close-up to show the vast improvement in the pores but the image to the right is not, exactly, to the same scale. However it is very close and you can clearly see that the pores of the skin have been deep cleaned. Furthermore there is a vast improvement on the tightness of the skin as the pores after the treatment are nowhere near as open as they were before it.
